Dyldam held a design excellence competition that was won by renowned architects Allen Jack + Cottier and Turner Architects. The project has 5 buildings ranging in height from 10 to 42 storeys within the 14,287 sqm site. The $600 million mixed use concept includes 753 residential apartments along with retail and commercial space. The site is an important gateway to Parramatta city centre from the South but the car yard sites have been empty for 3 years. The project includes a public plaza for residents and the wider community and includes a public thoroughfare to ensure connectivity across the site. Importantly the mixed uses of the development mean that people can live in close proximity to their work thereby reducing travel time and congestion on the roads. www.dyldam.com.au Residential and commercial buildings View from above with two horizontal office buildings and three apartment towers behind – Parramatta station on the right
