This is a saving of 10 square metres over the NSW minimum size. At the current average sale price in Sydney of $10,000 a square metre this amounts to a saving of $100,000. The Urban Taskforce asked Karl May of Turner Architects to use both Victorian and NSW standards for a two-bed, two- bath apartment design as shown here. On top of this an extra bathroom would need to add another 5 square metres. So a typical two-bed, two-bath apartment in Sydney must be at least 75 square metres.
